A row of 1/4″-20 threads and two cold shoe mounts carry counterweights and other accessories — a monitor, a phone mount or a wireless video transmitter. Aluminium alloy, 58 grams.
The Tilta Quick Release Baseplate Counterweight Adapter (TGA-BCA) solves one specific problem: a DJI Ronin gimbal is hard to balance once the camera and lens are front or back heavy. The adapter fits under the gimbal’s quick release plate and gives you somewhere to hang counterweights. One 60 g counterweight is in the box; further weights are bought separately.
The adapter carries a dovetail profile that slides into the Manfrotto quick release plate on the DJI Ronin gimbal. The tie-down screw then pulls it tight, so it stays put through driving and through sharp moves alike. Taking it off is just as quick — loosen the screw and slide it out.

Counterweights screw onto the adapter and slide along its length, so you trim the centre of gravity to exactly where the gimbal wants it. A balanced gimbal holds the image steadier, runs cooler and leaves the motors headroom for sharp moves.

A row of 1/4″-20 threads runs the length of the adapter. Besides counterweights they take other accessories — an articulating arm, a wireless video transmitter mount or a phone mount. You expand the rig without an extra adapter in between.

The adapter carries two cold shoe mounts. They take a monitor mount, a phone mount or a wireless video transmitter — anything on a cold shoe foot that would otherwise have to hang off the gimbal itself.

With counterweights the adapter balances larger camera rigs, the ones where the gimbal would otherwise fight the moment all day. It pays off especially with long lenses, on rigs with a matte box and anywhere accessories keep piling onto the camera body.

Tilta’s product description names the DJI RS 2, RSC 2, RS 3, RS 3 Pro, RS 4, RS 4 Pro and RS 5. The older technical data panel on the same page names only the RS 2 and RSC 2 — with the newer models it is worth checking the fit in advance.
