The Nikon MB-D12 Battery Grip is an optional multifunction power and control accessory designed for Nikon’s professional D800-series cameras, including the Nikon D800 DSLR Camera, D800E, D810, and D810A.

This battery grip enhances both ergonomics and performance. It allows photographers to shoot more comfortably in vertical (portrait) orientation thanks to its integrated secondary controls, including a shutter release button, autofocus activation button, and duplicate command dials (main and sub). These controls replicate the camera body layout for intuitive handling in portrait mode.

In terms of power, the MB-D12 significantly extends shooting time by supporting either a dedicated Nikon battery or eight standard AA batteries. When used with compatible setups, it can also increase continuous shooting speed up to 6 frames per second, improving performance for action, sports, and wildlife photography.
