Nikon NIKKOR Z 14-30mm f/4 S

The NIKKOR Z 14-30mm f/4 S is a compact S-Line ultra-wide-angle zoom lens for full-frame Nikon Z cameras. Its flat front element accepts standard 82 mm screw-in filters without a holder. A retractable barrel keeps it short for transport, it weighs 485 g, and the constant f/4 aperture keeps exposure consistent across the zoom range.

82 mm filters

This is the first FX-format ultra-wide lens that accepts 82 mm screw-in filters without a bulky holder. Polarising, neutral density and graduated filters are as easy to use as on a standard zoom, for both stills and video.

Faithfully rendered lights

The lens minimises sagittal coma flare, so point light sources such as street lights at night appear as even, round points even at the edges of the frame. Aspherical and ED glass elements add vivid colours and high contrast.

Built for video too

The multi-focus system and constant f/4 aperture deliver smooth transitions from bright exteriors into darker interiors and the same exposure throughout the focal range. Focus breathing and focus shift when zooming are suppressed.

Small, tough and light

The retractable barrel shortens the lens to 85 mm for transport. All moving parts of the barrel are sealed against dust and water droplets, and the fluorine coat on the front element repels water, dust and dirt without affecting image quality.

Quiet operation and control ring

The stepping motor focuses almost silently, zooming is quiet too, and the control ring adjusts the aperture without clicks. It can be assigned to exposure compensation or used as a focus ring in manual focus. The lens works with the sensor-shift vibration reduction of Nikon Z cameras, rated at up to 5 stops.
