Neumann WS47

The Neumann WS 47 is a high-quality foam windscreen designed to reduce unwanted wind noise, plosive sounds, and disturbances caused by microphone movement or close-range recording. Made from special open-cell polyurethane foam, it preserves the microphone's directional characteristics while providing up to 22 dB of wind noise attenuation. The WS 47 is compatible with BCM 104, BCM 705, D-01, and TLM 107 microphones and is available in black.

The Neumann WS 47 is a professional foam windscreen engineered to minimize unwanted noise caused by wind, microphone boom movement, and close-proximity speech recording. Manufactured from specially developed open-cell polyurethane foam, the WS 47 effectively attenuates wind noise without introducing unwanted resonances or altering the microphone's directional characteristics. This acoustic transparency allows the microphone to maintain its natural sound while improving recording quality in challenging environments.

The windscreen provides approximately 22 dB of wind noise reduction when measured at a wind speed of 20 km/h without electrical filtering. While maintaining excellent overall frequency response, it causes only a slight attenuation in the highest frequency range, with approximately 3 dB attenuation at 15 kHz.

The WS 47 is specifically designed for use with Neumann BCM 104, BCM 705, D-01, and TLM 107 microphones. With a diameter of 120 mm and a durable black finish, it is an ideal accessory for professional broadcast, podcasting, voice-over, and studio recording applications.
