The Neumann WS 100 is a professional foam windscreen designed for Neumann Series 100, Series 180, KM A, and KM D microphones. Constructed from high-quality open-cell polyurethane foam, it effectively reduces wind noise, plosive sounds, and handling disturbances while preserving the microphone's natural directional characteristics and acoustic performance.
The Neumann WS 100 is a premium foam windscreen engineered to provide effective protection against wind noise and unwanted air turbulence during recording and live sound applications. Designed specifically for Neumann Series 100, Series 180, KM A, and KM D microphones, it helps maintain clean and intelligible audio recordings in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Manufactured from specially formulated open-cell polyurethane foam, the WS 100 minimizes disturbing noises caused by wind, rapid microphone boom movements, and close-range recording situations. Unlike lower-quality windscreens, it does not introduce unwanted resonances or alter the microphone's directional characteristics, ensuring accurate and natural sound reproduction.
The WS 100 delivers approximately 23 dB of wind noise attenuation when tested at wind speeds of 20 km/h without electrical filtering. While maintaining excellent acoustic transparency, it introduces only a slight attenuation in the highest frequency range, with approximately 4 dB attenuation at 15 kHz.
With a diameter of 90 mm and a durable black finish, the WS 100 is an ideal accessory for professional studio recording, broadcast production, field recording, and live sound reinforcement applications.
