The Neumann WNS 110 is a professional foam windscreen designed for Neumann Series 100, Series 180, KM A, and KM D microphones. Made from high-quality open-cell polyurethane foam, it effectively reduces wind noise, plosive sounds, and handling disturbances while preserving the microphone’s natural frequency response and directional characteristics.
The Neumann WNS 110 is a premium foam windscreen engineered to enhance recording quality by minimizing unwanted noise caused by wind, rapid microphone movement, and close-range speech or vocal recording. Designed specifically for Neumann’s Series 100, Series 180, KM A, and KM D microphones, it provides reliable acoustic protection without compromising sound quality.
Manufactured from specially formulated open-cell polyurethane foam, the WNS 110 effectively attenuates wind noise while maintaining the microphone’s original polar pattern and acoustic performance. Unlike lower-quality windshields that can introduce resonances or alter tonal balance, the WNS 110 offers transparent performance with only minimal attenuation in the highest frequency range.
The windscreen delivers approximately 21 dB of wind noise reduction, measured without electrical filtering at a wind speed of 20 km/h. High-frequency attenuation at 15 kHz is approximately 1 dB, ensuring clear and natural audio reproduction for professional recording, broadcasting, and live sound applications.
Its compact design and lightweight construction make it an ideal accessory for studio recording, field recording, broadcasting, speech capture, and instrument recording where protection from unwanted environmental noise is required.
