Neumann KH MA1

The Neumann MA 1 Automatic Monitor Alignment System is an advanced room calibration solution designed to optimize the performance of Neumann studio monitor systems in any acoustic environment. Combining a precision-calibrated measurement microphone with sophisticated correction software developed in collaboration with Fraunhofer IIS, the MA 1 automatically analyzes room acoustics and applies amplitude and phase correction directly within compatible Neumann DSP monitors. The result is exceptionally accurate, reliable monitoring with improved tonal balance, imaging, impulse response, and low-frequency integration.

Developed specifically for Neumann KH series monitoring systems, the MA 1 ensures that your monitors deliver the most accurate and consistent sound possible, regardless of room acoustics.

At the core of the system is a precision measurement microphone individually calibrated for use with the MA 1 software. Through a guided measurement process, the software analyzes the acoustic characteristics of the listening environment and generates customized correction parameters tailored to the room and monitoring setup.

Unlike traditional room correction systems that rely on plug-ins or external processing, the MA 1 stores and processes correction data directly within compatible Neumann DSP-powered monitors and subwoofers. This integrated approach eliminates latency concerns, driver compatibility issues, and additional signal processing stages.

Developed jointly with the renowned Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits (IIS), the MA 1 utilizes advanced algorithms that optimize both amplitude and phase response. This results in improved tonal accuracy, tighter bass reproduction, enhanced stereo imaging, superior impulse response, and a more realistic representation of reverberation and spatial information.

The MA 1 supports stereo monitoring systems consisting of KH 80 DSP monitors with or without a KH 750 DSP subwoofer, as well as selected analog KH-series monitors connected through a KH 750 DSP subwoofer. The calibration process also optimizes low-frequency summation between monitors and subwoofers, ensuring seamless bass integration.

For users working in surround, immersive, or multichannel audio environments, an optional Multichannel Extension license is available, extending the MA 1's powerful alignment capabilities beyond stereo applications.
