The Manfrotto 200PLARCH-38 Architectural Quick Release Plate is a clever anti-twist upgrade that finally eliminates unwanted camera or head rotation on RC2/Manfrotto 494/496/498 ball heads and all 200PL-compatible systems. Featuring a reversible metal lip that locks positively against the front or rear of the camera body or lens collar, plus a robust 3/8″-16 screw, it delivers rock-solid stability—especially in portrait orientation—while remaining fully backward compatible with the classic 3157ANR plate.
The Manfrotto 200PLARCH-38 is the architectural version of the 200PL plate. Its key innovation is the integrated anti-rotation metal lip that can be positioned either at the front or rear of the camera base, preventing any twist between plate and camera—even with heavy telephoto lenses or when shooting vertically. The plate attaches via a large 3/8″-16 stainless steel screw with a coin-style slot and retractable hex key slot for extra tightening security.
