Product description

The Hollyland HL-TCB04 tally cable connects a video switcher to the tally station of the Hollyland Wireless Tally System. The DB25 male connector plugs into the station’s Tally (DB25) input, the other end is a DB9 male for the switcher’s tally output. The station learns by itself which PGM and PVW buttons belong to which camera. Via DB25 the system serves up to 12 cameras.

A wireless tally system needs just one piece of information from the switcher: which camera is on programme and which on preview. This cable carries it from the DB9 male connector on the switcher to the tally station, which radios it to the tally lights on the cameras up to 800 m away.

Tally from switcher to station

Genuine Hollyland cable with DB25 male – DB9 male connectors for the Wireless Tally System.

DB25 → DB9Wireless Tally Systemup to 12 channelsPGM / PVW

How it connects

DB25 male into the Tally (DB25) input of the tally station, DB9 male into the switcher’s tally output. The station then sends PGM and PVW status wirelessly to the tally lights.

Chosen by connector

Pick the cable by the switcher’s tally output – on the switcher side it has a DB9 male connector.

Sequence learning

The tally station learns the order of the PGM and PVW buttons by itself – no manual channel mapping.

Setup: switcher → tally station → tally lights

The tally cable carries the signal from the switcher’s tally output to the tally station. On first connection the station uses sequence learning to find out which PGM and PVW button on the switcher belongs to which camera – simply press the buttons the station asks for on its display.

Tally (DB25) input on the tally station

The DB25 male connector plugs into the Tally (DB25) input on the rear panel of the tally station, which is a DB25 female socket. Next to it the station offers an RJ45 tally input, an RJ45 loop-out port for the switcher, DC power and two TNC antenna connectors.

Up to 12 channels via DB25

The DB25 input handles up to 12 channels of dual-colour tally, the RJ45 input up to 16. Each tally light is then assigned to its camera with the number dial and shows programme (PGM) in red and preview (PVW) in green.
