iFocus is a focus motor for wireless lens control. It attaches to the lens mounting rod; its gear meshes with the focus ring, and the motor then transmits movement from the control dial or the app. Its electromagnetic design increases power density, allowing the motor to drive even heavier cine lenses, even though it weighs only 198 g.
The motor connects to the MOZA Air 2 gimbal via a Multi-Can connector, which also powers its receiver—this makes focusing the gimbal’s “fourth axis” and allows it to be programmed in conjunction with other movements. No calibration is needed; the motor is ready to go as soon as it’s turned on.
The wireless connection operates at 2.4 GHz via an external antenna with a range of up to 100 m. The built-in Bluetooth module allows you to use a phone with the MOZA app as a controller: set multiple focus points, switch the focus speed, or record the focus sequence and then replay it repeatedly.
The end points can be set so that the motor stops automatically exactly where it’s supposed to during the focus pull. The built-in battery lasts up to 24 hours.
