The Fujinon MKX 18-55mm T2.9 X-Mount Cine is a lightweight, cine -style zoom lens for X-mount cameras with a Super 35mm sensor. The electrical contacts within the lens mounts enable communication with X-series cameras. It has a mechanical design with three independent lens control rings: focus, iris and zoom. Each ring has a cinematographic wheel with a 0.8 MOD for connection to standard cine-style lens accessories. The focus ring has a rotation of about 200°, which provides space for precise focusing, and the iris is click-free, allowing smooth iris to be drawn. The lens also has a macro mode for precise focus capabilities.
The lens is color-coordinated with other Fujinon lenses, such as the HK, ZK and XK series, allowing a smooth interlayer between lenses. The front of 85 mm allows the use of many cine-like matt boxes via optional upright rings (rings not included). The lens weighs only 0.98 kilos, which is fairly light for a zoom lens with focus and aperture over the entire focal length range. It is designed for cameras with a Fuji X mount, so it has a short flange focal length, but the lens allows flange focal distance adjustment so you can tune it to the camera you are using the lens on.
