The Edelkrone Focus/Zoom Module v3 is a high-precision, single-axis motorized unit that controls lens focus or zoom on HeadPLUS and HeadPLUS PRO v3. Any lens with numbered distance markings works for focus control, and any lens with clearly marked focal lengths for zoom control. It is driven by a brushless motor with an ultra high-res encoder, and the box includes a Lens Gear PRO for lenses without their own gear.

A geared motor turns the focus or zoom ring and stores its position together with the movement of the head.

Power up your HeadPLUS and take control of your lens The module attaches to the rods next to the lens, meshes with the focus or zoom ring and HeadPLUS controls it just like its own pan and tilt axes. Lens positions are stored on the Keypose and Point buttons and always return to exactly the same place.

What the module does

  • Universal lens compatibility: works with lenses featuring focus distance or focal length markings; lenses without a gear take the included lens gear.
  • Precision focus and zoom control: map and save lens profiles for repeatable, accurate focus pulling and zooming.
  • Seamless integration: attaches securely to rods and aligns perfectly with lens rings for smooth operation.
  • Multiple control modes: switch between Keypose Mode for precise focus/zoom recall and Point Mode for dynamic autofocus tracking.
  • Real-time lens mapping: easy calibration process with app support for focus distance and zoom range.

Focus and zoom in Keypose and Point Track modes

Allows you to switch focus between two keyposes.

Enables zoom transitions between two keyposes.

Benefits in Point Track Mode

Keeps the tracked point in focus throughout the tracking (thanks to lens mapping for autofocusing).

Lets you set different zoom levels for each point during transitions.

Focus and zoom in Keypose and Point Track modes

Set a point to track by simply focusing on it!

You can now aim your camera and focus on the point to quickly teach its position to the system.

Zoom Control

If you attach Focus/Zoom Module to the zoom ring of your lens, you can assign different zoom amounts to each Keypose and Point Button.

Lens mapping

If your lens is not in the list, you can easily teach your lens in a minute (ONE-TIME) and save for future use.

Just choose your lens model from the Lens Community and you are ready to autofocus.

The module features intelligent automatic torque control: powerful enough to rotate bulky pro cinema lenses and gentle with delicate lens end-stops.
