The DJI Transmission product has evolved from DJI's established aerial video transmission technology and delivers an integrated solution that combines a video receiver, monitor, controller and recorder. It is designed to natively integrate with Ronin and DJI Master Wheels products.
Live HD transmission over long distances
DJI Transmission incorporates O3 Pro video transmission technology, offering a ground transmission distance of an incredible 6 km. It also supports 1080p/60fps transmission at a maximum bit rate of 50 Mbps, as well as live 16-bit audio monitoring at 48 kHz, giving crews an excellent visual and audio remote monitoring experience.
The video transmitter and receiver use the same solution as Ronin 4D, with each link explicitly optimised to provide end-to-end ultra-low latency when paired with film cameras such as the ALEXA Mini LF.
Seamless automatic frequency selection
O3 Pro adds DFS bands to the traditional 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz frequency bands, offering up to 23 channels to give professional teams a choice of transmission channels that are more compliant and uninterrupted. In addition, DJI Transmission supports tri-band automatic frequency selection, which automatically scans the electromagnetic environment and selects the best channel. With the built-in frequency converter, users can even manually select the optimal channel to avoid interference between devices. Mounting high-gain antennas further enhances transmission capability.
One transmitter with multiple receivers
The High-Bright Remote Monitor supports one transmitter with multiple receivers for video and audio channels in two transmission modes. In Control mode, DJI Transmission provides optimal transmission performance. Monitoring can be performed from two receivers simultaneously, while Ronin 2, RS 3 Pro and camera focus can be controlled remotely. For crews working with multiple members and teams such as lighting, art department and props, Broadcast mode can be enabled in addition to Control mode, which will allow an unlimited number of receivers (transmission performance will vary from Control mode). This takes filming efficiency to a whole new level. In dynamic multi-team environments such as reality shows, DJI's unique transmission protocol can help make better use of wireless channels. With DFS bands and continuous automatic frequency selection technology, DJI Transmission can work with 20 or more transmitters sending signals to 20 or more monitors simultaneously. The result is a smooth and coordinated experience that is difficult to achieve with a traditional transmission setup.
DJI Transmission supports secure pairing and 256-bit AES encryption to protect against unauthorized access to your information. Together with DJI's proprietary chip and transmission protocol, DJI Transmission can provide a high level of security for your footage.
Compared to conventional solutions, DJI Transmission has an integrated high-brightness monitor with a built-in receiver, providing optimal portability and efficient setup to help you get started shooting quickly in any environment. The remote monitor comes with a built-in image processing chip that is the same as the one used in the Ronin 4D. As a result, it offers many features for integrated and efficient reception, monitoring, control and recording in addition to monitoring.
Wide gamut touch screen
The High-Bright Remote Monitor is equipped with a 7" touchscreen display with a brightness of up to 1500 nits. It comes standard with protective tempered glass and a professional monitor cover that ensures rich, true-to-life colors even in bright lighting conditions. With a resolution of 1920x1200, the screen can display an additional interface (OSD).
The remote monitor comes with supporting software tools such as safe zone, border, hatching, false color, waveform, etc..
Independent recording and playback
The remote monitor is also equipped with a microSD card slot and allows recording and playback of live H.264 video at 1080p/60 fps, as well as simultaneous access to timecode, making on-set editing easy. When using multiple remote monitors, each monitor can even independently record or playback footage without disturbing the other monitors.
Built-in motion controller
The High-Bright Remote Monitor also features a built-in gyro sensor that can turn a remote monitor into a standalone motion controller for Ronin 2 or RS 3 Pro without additional accessories to achieve more complex camera movements from a moving vehicle or on a crane.
Compatible with Ronin 4D Hand Grips
When used with the Ronin 4D Hand Grips, you can use the joystick to control the Ronin 2 or RS 3 Pro gimbal and the focus wheel to control focusing and adjusting camera parameters such as aperture, shutter and ISO, while the record button controls starting or stopping recording. This makes the operation of the RS 3 Pro similar to that of the Ronin 4D.
Compatible with DJI Master Wheels and DJI Force Pro
When used with DJI Master Wheels or DJI Force Pro, the remote monitor allows users to achieve more advanced gimbal control when using Ronin 2 or RS 3 Pro. In this situation, the original device will send control signals directly through DJI Transmission and will no longer use the wireless signal from DJI Master Wheels or DJI Force Pro. This will triple the transmission power and improve signal range, stability and immunity to interference.
Mirror Control Mode
When the RS 3 Pro is mounted on a crane, cable car or vehicle, you can remotely control Sony mirrorless cameras from anywhere using Mirror Control mode.
