The Datavideo DAC-45 converts VGA, HDMI and HD/SD-SDI to HDMI up to 4K or to 3G-SDI. Up/down/cross format and frame-rate conversion connects legacy computer sources to professional video systems, while two RCA inputs can embed separate stereo audio in the HDMI or SDI output.
Connect VGA, HDMI and SDI
The DAC-45 connects VGA, HDMI and HD/SD-SDI sources to HDMI output up to 4K and to 3G-SDI. It converts up, down and across formats, helping integrate legacy computer or studio signals into a modern chain while adapting resolution and frame rate.
Convert signals without extra steps
VGA, HDMI or HD/SD-SDI input can be converted to HDMI up to 4K or to SDI. All outputs are active at the same time, so the DAC-45 can distribute the signal to multiple downstream devices in a compatible setup. It supports 3G-SDI Level A and B, and built-in interlacing processing converts between interlaced and progressive formats.
Embed audio in HDMI and SDI
Two unbalanced RCA inputs let you add external stereo audio to the video output. The DAC-45 carries embedded HDMI and SDI audio in PCM at up to 8 channels and 48 kHz. This is useful when converting a computer picture that needs a separate audio input.
Reference sync and color adjustment
The reference input supports Black Burst and Tri-Level Sync. HDMI color space can be adjusted in DAC CENTER software; the Proc Amp provides video adjustment, while the SDI output supports equalization, reclocking and cable drive. Mini USB is used for device updates and configuration.
Easy rack integration
The optional Datavideo RMK-1 kit installs one or two compatible DAC-45 converters in a 19-inch rack. An integrated HDMI strain relief helps protect the connector from cable stress, and the switch-setting chart is printed on the underside of the unit.

Choose an HDMI cable length to connect your source and destination devices in the production setup. For SDI, use a 75-ohm BNC cable with BNC connectors. The optional RMK-1 kit mounts one or two DAC-45 converters in a 19-inch rack.
