Blackmagic Design URSA Studio Viewfinder G2

The Blackmagic URSA Studio Viewfinder G2 is a 7" studio viewfinder with a brightness of 2,000 cd/m² that turns URSA Mini, URSA Mini Pro and URSA Broadcast cameras into full studio cameras for live production. It has a detachable sunshade, handles with an articulated mount and a large tally light with a camera number. It connects directly to the camera’s SDI and power outputs.

Readable even in daylight

A bright 7" TFT LCD with 2,000 cd/m² and a detachable sunshade give a readable image in the studio and outdoors at large events.

Control without taking your eyes off the action

A rotary dial for the menu, three encoders for brightness, contrast and Focus Peaking, and three user buttons that can be assigned functions such as Zebra, False Color, Focus Peaking, Luminance Waveform or LUT let you change settings on the fly.

Tally and the Blackmagic protocol

The large RGB tally light shows on-air (red), preview (green) and ISO recording (orange). States switch automatically from ATEM switcher commands over SDI; the camera operator only sets the camera number.

The viewfinder attaches with a standard V-Lock mount to the top panel of the camera or to the front of the SMPTE Fiber Converter when one is installed on the camera. The integrated arm makes it easy to position the monitor.

Perspex numbers that can be placed on the tally light are included, along with a PDF document for printing your own numbers or labels. The Blackmagic SDI Control Protocol adds not only switcher commands, including tally, to the SDI data stream, but also talkback and camera control functions. The protocol is fully documented and lets you integrate Blackmagic cameras and switchers into television studio infrastructure.
