From a 6G-SDI line it provides up to 4 channels of balanced analog audio or 8 channels of digital AES/EBU for mixing desks, audio monitors, recorders and other studio equipment.
4K SDI audio to outputs
Get the audio from a 6G-SDI line on separate analog outputs or AES/EBU. The converter helps with monitoring, metering and passing audio to a mixing desk in Ultra HD and 4K DCI production.

Each of the four jacks carries one analog channel or a pair of AES/EBU channels. Audio is output at 48 kHz and 24 bit.

Four analog channels or eight AES/EBU
The converter de-embeds up to 4 channels of balanced analog audio or up to 8 channels of digital AES/EBU from the SDI signal. Each of the four jacks carries either one analog channel or a pair of AES/EBU channels (1 and 2, 3 and 4, 5 and 6, 7 and 8).
From SD to Ultra HD
The multi-rate 6G-SDI input detects SD, HD, 3G and 6G-SDI automatically and works with SD, HD, 2K DCI, Ultra HD up to 2160p30 and 4K DCI up to 25p.
SDI loop output
The SDI input signal continues through the reclocked loop output to further equipment, so the converter can be inserted into a route without interrupting it. Meanwhile the audio becomes available to the sound control room.
Redundant SDI input
In addition to the main SDI input, the converter has a redundant ALT SDI input. If the main signal is lost, for example when a cable is damaged, the converter automatically switches over to the redundant input and the audio outputs keep working.
Standard jack connectors
The audio outputs use standard 1/4 inch jacks, so no custom cables are needed. Audio is output at 48 kHz and 24 bit according to the television standard.
6G-SDI Mini Converter range
The 4K model is designed for Ultra HD production; for SD and HD up to 1080p60 the more affordable Mini Converter SDI to Audio is enough. Both models have the same audio connections and the same setup with mini switches.
Setup with mini switches or over USB
Functions are selected with mini switches using the diagram printed on the converter: analog audio or AES/EBU and the channel group in SDI that the audio comes from. Over USB and the utility for macOS and Windows, settings can be changed from a computer and new software installed.
For the sound control room and the studio
The Mini Converter range of converters is built for 24/7 operation: the compact metal body fits into a rack in the sound control room, in the studio or in an outside broadcast truck. The connections are easy to reach and use standard cables.
Connections
One side has four audio jacks (each for one analog channel or a pair of AES/EBU channels), the other the SDI input, the redundant ALT SDI input, the SDI loop output and the power input.

About the Mini Converter range
The Mini Converter range is designed for professional broadcast, post-production and AV installations. A compact metal chassis, high-quality connectors and standard cabling make it dependable in studios, control rooms and mobile systems.
