Blackmagic Design ATEM Monitoring Rack Panel 40

A rack-mount control panel for local control of ATEM Constellation IP switchers with a built-in monitoring converter. It offers 40 input buttons, redundant 10G SMPTE-2110, two 12G-SDI outputs, HDMI, a 5-inch LCD monitor and a front panel talkback connection in a 2 RU design.

ATEM Monitoring Rack Panel 40 adds convenient local control and monitoring right in the rack to ATEM Constellation IP switchers. Buttons, LCD and talkback are instantly at hand on the front panel.

A 2110 converter inside a control panel

Inside the panel is a video converter: it converts two redundant 10G SMPTE 2110 networks to two 12G-SDI outputs and an HDMI output, and the built-in 5-inch LCD shows the picture too.

ST 2022-7 redundancy

A pair of 10G RJ45 ports receives IP streams from two 2110 networks to ST 2022-7, so losing one network does not interrupt the picture.

Separate control network

A 1G RJ45 port connects the panel to the switcher and NMOS control separately from video.

Talkback on the front panel

A 5-pin XLR headset connector plus talkback and program mix buttons allow communication right from the rack.

Dual power

Two internal 100–240 V AC power supplies with two IEC C14 inputs keep the panel running even if one feed fails.

Switcher control from the rack

40 input buttons, CUT and AUTO buttons, transition buttons and a rotary knob with menu: the local ATEM switcher can be cut and set up without the main control panel – during setup or in an emergency.

2110 to SDI and HDMI conversion

One incoming IP video stream is converted to two 12G-SDI outputs and an HDMI 4K output with embedded audio – 16 channels on SDI, 8 on HDMI. The Blackmagic IP10 codec optionally handles 2160p59.94 and 2160p60.

Monitoring right in the rack

The built-in 5-inch LCD shows video and signal status, so the engineer sees the result right at the rack. Mount the panel in the rack and use it when setting up or monitoring a job.

Connections

The front panel has input, transition, talkback and menu buttons, the talkback connector and the LCD; the rear has two AC power inputs, USB-C, the 1G control port, two 10G ports for 2110 IP video, two 12G-SDI outputs and an HDMI 4K output.
