The ZEISS Lens Gear is a ring that turns a camera lens into one that can be controlled by a follow focus. It attaches by simply twisting it on— no tools required; no screwdriver or rubber band is needed, which tends to stretch out over time.
The ring is made of lightweight aluminum with a hardened finish and features 0.8 MOD teeth, which is the film industry standard. This ensures smooth and precise focusing.
The package includes a GumGum rubber band with an adhesive backing. This reduces the ring’s inner diameter to fit specific lenses, so a single ring can be used on multiple lenses; at the same time, the GumGum protects the lens’s focus ring from scratches.
The Medium Makro 100 size is designed for lenses with a focus ring diameter of 78 to 84 mm, or 76 to 82 mm with the GumGum strip attached.
