A lightweight wide-angle prime for everyday shooting

The 28mm focal length gives a natural wide view without an extreme perspective. It suits street, travel, interiors and documentary video where you want to stay close to the action while keeping the environment in the frame.

Bright enough for evenings and subject separation

The F1.8 aperture helps keep ISO lower in dim light and lets you separate a subject from the background even with a wider focal length. It is a practical choice for reportage, night streets and discreet handheld video.

Quiet autofocus for stills and video

The STM stepping motor focuses smoothly and quietly. Electronic communication with the camera supports autofocus and metadata transfer; firmware can be kept up to date via USB-C.

Compact kit for the camera bag

With a 70mm diameter, roughly 88mm length and about 367g weight, it is easy to carry for travel. The 55mm front thread accepts protective, ND, polarizing or diffusion filters.
