The VariZoom VZLFC Follow Focus is a professional-grade electronic follow focus designed specifically for Canon C100 and C300 EF-mount cameras. Leveraging proprietary LANC encoder technology, it provides precise control over focus, enabling smooth adjustments from extremely slow to rapid shifts without chatter or jumpiness.
The VZLFC is ideal for setups where manual access to the lens is difficult or undesirable, such as on tripods, jibs, cranes, or remote rigs. The controller also includes integrated functions for recording, camera power on/off, and push auto iris, with an indicator light for camera status and low battery warnings.
Unlike other follow focus systems, the VZLFC draws power directly from the camera via the 2.5mm LANC port, eliminating the need for external batteries. For extended reach, optional extension cables can be used to control the lens from a greater distance.
Note: Depending on the camera version and lens combination, you may need to adjust the AF mode in the C100/C300 menu to “One Shot” for proper focus control.
