The Ulanzi VM02 is a small wireless monitor that displays the image from your phone’s rear camera —so you can take selfies and record vlogs with a higher-quality lens while still seeing yourself. It snaps onto your phone magnetically (MagSafe) in a second, transmits via 5 GHz Wi-Fi with no noticeable lag, and lets you focus remotely using the rotary dial. The display measures 2.0" with a resolution of 480 × 640; the 1000 mAh battery lasts about 2.5 hours, and the entire device weighs 88 g.

Record with the rear camera and see yourself

A phone’s front camera is always the worse one. The VM02 mirrors the image from the rear camera onto its display, so you can control the composition while shooting with the better lens.

Focus with the dial, even from a distance

Turn the wheel to fine-tune the focus and zoom, even when you’re several meters away from your phone. Turning clockwise zooms in; turning counterclockwise zooms out.

Transmission with no noticeable lag

The video stream is transmitted via 5 GHz Wi-Fi with a range of 40 m or more; control is via Bluetooth 5.2 (10 m, up to 20 m in open spaces). You can see the scene on the display in near real time.

Clip it on and shoot

Strong magnets attach to MagSafe-compatible phones; a magnetic adapter ring is included in the package for other phones. Attachment takes a second—no mount or cable required.

1,000 mAh battery for 2.5 hours

The 3.7 V / 1,000 mAh (3.7 Wh) polymer battery lasts about 2.5 hours of continuous screen mirroring. It charges via USB-C (5 V/2 A).
