The Ulanzi UT01 is a Bluetooth remote shutter for phones that does more than just take pictures. The dial on the front switches between an instant shutter and an audible 3 s, 5 s or 10 s countdown, and the side button doubles as a scroll control for browsing social media and e-books without touching the screen. The battery lasts over 100,000 clicks and 290 days on standby, and it charges over USB-C even while in use. At 15 g with its own bag clip, you won't notice it until you need it.

The dial on the front switches between an instant shutter and a 3, 5 or 10-second countdown announced by sound. Set the phone on a tripod, hold the shutter in your hand, and shoot outdoors, on a trail or on the road without needing a second person.

In burst mode the shutter fires frames at a precise, steady rhythm, so it captures the fraction of a second when something happens — a step, a jump, a gesture. Useful wherever a single frame isn't enough.

The built-in 200 mAh cell is rated by the maker for over 100,000 shutter clicks and more than 290 days on standby. It charges over USB-C, which also supports using the shutter while it charges, so it never runs out mid-shoot.

The side button also works as a remote scroll control, so you drive the phone from your hand, your pocket or across the room. Sit back and browse content or switch modes without ever touching the display.

No more thumb fatigue: one press moves short videos on social media up and down, two presses move them left and right. The phone can sit on a tripod or lie on the table while you just press the button.

A double press turns the page in a reader or a book app, so there is no endless swiping. You read at your own pace with the phone propped up anywhere.

A lanyard is built in, letting the UT01 clip onto a bag strap, a keyring or a wrist. At 15 g it stays with you all the time and is ready the moment a shot worth taking shows up.

Turned on, the UT01 enters pairing mode on its own — pick "UT01" from the phone's Bluetooth device list and the shutter is ready to use right away, with no app to install.
