The Ulanzi FT16 combines two items that are typically used separately— a TTL system flash for Sony and a continuous LED light with adjustable color temperature. In TTL mode, it automatically controls exposure; in manual mode, it offers eight power levels ranging from 1/1 to 1/128. It has a guide number ( GN) of 16, recharges to full power in 1.8 seconds, and delivers up to 500 flashes per charge. The LED panel tilts from 0–90° independently of the flash, and magnetic filters can be attached without tools. The entire unit weighs 150 g.

You switch between three modes on the display: TTL sets the power automatically, M leaves it to you and CCT turns on the continuous LED light. The flash also has a focus assist light.

Flash and LED panel, independently
The LED panel tilts 0–90° independently of the flash head. The flash delivers the burst, and you see the LED light before you shoot.
Tool-free magnetic filters
The box includes three magnetic attachments: a white diffuser for softening, and orange and yellow ones for a warm, cinematic cast. They snap onto the head and come off just as quickly.
Continuous light 2500–6500 K
The LED panel emits light from 2500 to 6500 K, and brightness is adjustable from 10% to 100%. Match the light to your surroundings, warm under bulbs and cool by a window.
CRI 92–97
A colour rendering index of 92 to 97 ensures accurate skin tones as well as the colours of food and products. You will not have to correct the green or purple cast of cheap LED lights.
Eight power levels
In manual mode you select the power in eight steps from 1/1 to 1/128. Flash exposure compensation ranges ±3 EV in 1/3-stop steps. Recharge to full power takes 1.8–2 s, and one charge lasts up to 500 flashes.
Controls right on the body
The M button cycles through CCT, M and TTL modes and, in flash mode, toggles the focus assist light. The − and + buttons change the power, and the 7.4 V / 800 mAh battery charges over USB-C in about 90 minutes.
Sony quick-release foot
The Sony Multi-Interface foot locks in one movement, with no wheel to tighten, and comes off in a second. The flash fits the Sony cameras listed in the table.
