Autofocus with an STM motor
Focusing is driven by an STM motor controlled by the camera, so the lens uses the autofocus of the camera body. It focuses from 0.3 m, so close-up details work too.

The lens is made for APS-C sensors, where 23 mm roughly equals 35 mm on full frame. On full-frame bodies, set the camera to APS-C mode.
F1.8 aperture and 9 aperture blades
The F1.8 aperture helps in low light and separates the subject from the blurred background. The 9-blade aperture is set from F1.8 to F16.
