Tilta Nucleus-M Hand Grip to Gimbal Adapters (L/R)

A pair of Tilta adapters for attaching the Nucleus-M hand grips to a gimbal: the left and right adapter clamp around the gimbal's 30 mm diameter top handle and, with the included bushings, a 25 mm one too. The wireless lens control hand grips thus move from the rig rods to the stabilizer, and the gimbal operator controls focus, iris or zoom straight from the grip — with no second person on the hand unit.

The Nucleus-M hand grip to gimbal adapters (left and right) turn a stabilizer with a top handle — a tube of 30 or 25 mm diameter — into a carrier for the Nucleus-M hand grips. Each adapter has its own tightening toggle and a clamp into which the 30-to-25 mm bushing is inserted.

The adapter opens, fits onto the tube of the gimbal's top handle and tightens with the toggle — the clamp is built for 30 mm diameter, and if the gimbal handle is thinner, the included 25 mm bushing goes in. The other side of the adapter carries the interface to which the Nucleus-M hand grip attaches just as it would on a rig. The left and right adapters are mirror images, so the grips sit at the same angle on both sides of the gimbal and the operator has the focus wheel and buttons under the thumb while holding the stabilizer with both hands.

Construction

The adapters are aluminum alloy in gunmetal gray with stainless steel fittings; each measures 44.5 × 57.2 × 38.1 mm. They belong to the first-generation Nucleus-M hand grips; for the Nucleus-M II hand grips the Top Handle adapter WLC-T06-THA applies.

The Tilta Nucleus-M system

Nucleus-M (WLC-T03 series) is wireless lens control: motors on 15/19 mm rods turn focus, iris and zoom, the FIZ hand unit or hand grips with a wheel drive them remotely, and power runs over 7-pin cables — from a P-Tap plate or daisy-chained motor to motor. The WLC-T03 parts combine: motor gears, cables, grip adapters, bridge and case all belong to the same system, including this one.
