The Tilta Nucleus Auto Focus Adapter (E to PL) in the Dual Motor Handwheel Kit brings the phase-detection autofocus of Sony Alpha and FX cameras up to the FX6 to manual PL lenses, including face detection and eye tracking. The kit pairs the adapter with two motors and a handwheel; with two motors the iris is adjusted electronically from the camera.

Classic manual cinema lenses and modern autofocus used to be two separate worlds. The Nucleus Auto Focus Adapter bridges them within the Tilta Nucleus wireless lens control ecosystem it was designed to work with.
The adapter sits between the Sony E-mount of the camera and a PL lens, reads focus data straight from the sensor and a Nucleus motor turns the focus ring accordingly.

Take manual control at any moment for a precise focus pull or a creative rack, then release to hand focus back to autofocus. The override is triggered by the MF button on the Nucleus-M II FIZ Hand Unit and the motor jumps to the current position of the unit.
Pick a supported lens from the menu and start shooting right away, no calibration.
Map an unsupported lens directly in the adapter UI and save it to the library.
Voltage, lens brand, series and focal length plus motor status show on the adapter screen.
PD input to power the adapter and an output for the motor, both 15V / 3A.
The adapter uses the camera’s own phase-detection autofocus, so face detection and eye tracking work on a manual lens too. It is compatible with Sony Alpha and FX bodies up to the FX6, such as the FX2, FX3, FX30, FX5 and FX6.
The kit combines the Nucleus Auto Focus Adapter with two motors and a handwheel. With two motors the lens iris is adjusted via the camera’s electronic control.
Sony’s AI-driven subject recognition works even on lenses that were never designed for autofocus.

Built on the Nucleus ecosystem, autofocus mode and manual focus mode switch smoothly without hiccups.

The adapter is not compatible with the Sony Burano or FX9, whose locking E-mount leaves no clearance for it, nor with the Viltrox E to Z adapter; similar adapters from other makers may be difficult to remove. The firmware does not yet support zoom or 2x anamorphic lenses. Manual focus override does not correct the autofocus, it only lets you drive the motor by hand while the adapter is active.
The kit may also contain further mounting parts and cables.
