Tilta Illusion Magnetic Filter Protective Cover (Front)

The Tilta Illusion front protective cover is a magnetic cover for the front glass of Tilta Illusion magnetic filters. It clicks magnetically onto a single filter or onto a whole stacked and locked filter stack and protects the glass from dust, fingerprints and scratches — on the road and on the lens, because with an Illusion filter mounted the lens's original cap no longer fits. Together with the rear cover (sold separately) it forms a closed, compact cylinder.

The Tilta Illusion Magnetic Filter Protective Cover (Front), TF-MF-FPC, is the front protective cover for Illusion magnetic filters: it clicks magnetically onto the front glass of a filter or filter stack and replaces the lens cap, which no longer fits with the filter on.

The protective cover sits on a Tilta Illusion magnetic filter just like the filter sits on the adapter ring — magnetically, in one move. It fits a single filter as well as a whole filter stack that is magnetically stacked and locked together, and protects the glass from dust, fingerprints and scratches even when the stack travels without a pouch.

A replacement for the lens cap

With an Illusion magnetic filter on the lens, the lens's original cap can no longer be fitted. The front protective cover takes its place: it has a pinch grip like a classic cap, comes off with a squeeze and clicks back on magnetically — and stays on the lens until you start shooting.

Front and rear cover

The system has two covers: the front one (TF-MF-FPC) covers the front glass and has a pinch grip like a classic lens cap, the rear one (TF-MF-BPC) covers the back of the filter, the side that otherwise sits on the ring. With both covers the filter stack is closed on both sides and travels in the bag as one compact cylinder.

The front protective cover closes the magnetically stacked Illusion filter stack from the front. With the cover on, the filters travel without a pouch and the front glass stays clean and scratch-free.

Things to keep in mind

With an Illusion magnetic filter mounted, the lens's original cap no longer fits — on the road, this front cover takes its place. The carrying pouch for the filters is sold separately.

The Tilta Illusion Magnetic system

The system is built on the adapter ring on the lens and the Tilta Illusion magnetic filters that click onto it: the CPL circular polariser, its variants with a 5-stop ND and with Black Mist 1/4, the VND adapter for the CPL, a UV filter, and the Creator Kit and Ultimate Kit sets. The front and rear covers close the filter stack for travel.
