Its ultracompact and lightweight design ensures it stays out of your frame—even when using wide-angle lenses or mounting on gimbals—making it ideal for on-the-go shooting.

The microphone supports both Sony’s Multi-Interface (MI) shoe for cable-free operation and a standard 3.5mm TRS output for universal compatibility with DSLR and mirrorless cameras. When used with compatible Sony cameras, it draws power directly from the MI shoe, eliminating the need for batteries.

Built with vibration suppression technology, the ECM-G1 reduces handling noise from camera movements such as focusing or zooming. It also includes a detachable furry windscreen for minimizing wind noise during outdoor recordings, ensuring clean and professional audio in any environment.
