The Sirui 1.25x is an anamorphic front adapter that turns a spherical lens into an anamorphic one and increases the squeeze of anamorphic lenses. It screws onto an 82mm front thread, focusing is done on the adapter only, and the 1.25x squeeze stays constant across the focus range. With SIRUI 1.6x lenses it gives a 2x squeeze. It weighs 650 g and is only 46.5mm long.
One adapter, many anamorphic lenses – just screw it onto the front thread.
Screwed onto a SIRUI 1.6x anamorphic lens it gives a 2x squeeze: narrower oval bokeh, shallower depth of field and more image in the frame for reframing later.
On cameras with 4:3 sensors the image desqueezes to roughly 16:9, the common format for commercials and TV.
With a spherical lens and 16:9 recording you get a 20:9 image that fills a smartphone screen.
The 1.25x squeeze holds at every focus distance, so faces are not distorted in close-ups.
46.5mm long and 650 g – far less than typical 2x anamorphic setups.
The 1.25x squeeze widens the horizontal field of view by 25%. Top: a 35mm 1.6x lens alone; bottom: with the adapter.

A spherical lens with the adapter and 16:9 recording produces a 20:9 image that plays full screen on a smartphone.

Set both the base lens and the adapter to infinity and focus with the adapter ring; fine-tune with the base lens ring if needed.

If the flares are not horizontal, turn on the gridlines, press the button and rotate the adapter until they are level. To remove the adapter, unscrew it (do not press the button).
