Professional stereo microphone with three switchable stereo modes. The MKH 8018 is a stereo RF condenser microphone (half-diaphragm) that provides rich sound, precise directional resolution, and exceptionally convincing space. The MKH 8018 features a special push-pull transducer design that, combined with a low-voltage diaphragm, provides exceptional sensitivity and a wide frequency response, allowing the MKH 8018 to capture sound with compelling authenticity. Switchable modes—MS, XY-narrow, and XY-wide—give the MKH 8018 great flexibility when recording sound.
In MS mode, the MKH 8018 provides independent center and side signals. This allows you to adjust the width of the stereo image in post-production or in the field using matrix processing. Alternatively, you can choose from two internal matrix modes that provide traditional "left-right" stereo without the need for external mixing consoles. To adapt to different acoustic environments, the user can choose between "wide" mode (LR-W) with increased ambient pickup and "narrow" mode (LR-N), which offers greater noise rejection and less ambient noise in the recording.
It is manufactured in a matte gray "Nextel" finish.
