Saramonic SR-SMC2

The Saramonic SR-SMC2 is a shock mount for shotgun and other cylindrical microphones from 19 to 25 mm in diameter. Its four-point silicone suspension isolates the microphone from shocks and vibration coming from the camera, boom pole or stand. The cold-shoe foot fits a camera or camcorder, and the 1/4"-20, 3/8" and 5/8" threads put it on a boom pole, tripod, stand or cage.

Four-point suspension

The microphone hangs in two cradles on four silicone bands. They absorb shocks and vibration that would otherwise travel from the camera, boom pole or stand into the recording as rumble.

For 19 to 25 mm microphones

The cradles take shotgun and other cylindrical microphones 19 to 25 mm in diameter. The screw joint under the suspension sets the angle so the microphone points right at the sound source.

On a shoe, a pole or a stand

The cold-shoe foot puts the mount on a camera or camcorder, and the 1/4"-20, 3/8"-16 and 5/8" threads on a boom pole, tripod, microphone stand or camera cage.

A shotgun microphone on the camera

Above the lens, the SR-SMC2 keeps a shotgun microphone in line with the shot while isolating it from handling and camera-body noise. At 105 g it adds almost nothing to the rig.
