RODECaster Video S

A compact video and audio production console for streamers, podcasters, and content creators that combines professional video switching, audio mixing, and recording in one device. Type and purpose

The RØDECaster Video S is a versatile, compact production console designed for complete control of video and audio production. It allows you to switch between up to four video sources, work with multiple scenes, integrate graphic layers, and mix audio at a professional level.

Controls and interface

The front panel features five scene switch buttons, a dedicated recording section, two backlit rotary encoders, "AUTO" and "CUT" buttons, and a 2" color touchscreen for detailed settings.

Video and connectivity

There are three HDMI inputs (type A), one USB-C input for UVC video, and a configurable HDMI output with preview, program, or multiview display options. It supports the NDI protocol for connecting network cameras, including PTZ control, and streaming up to four NDI inputs simultaneously.

Audio section

Two balanced Neutrik® XLR/TRS combo inputs support microphone, line, and instrument signals (Mic/Line/Instrument) and utilize Revolution Preamps™ with ultra-low noise and up to 76 dB of gain. Signal processing is provided by APHEX® effects such as EQ, compressor, de-esser, noise gate, Aural Exciter™, and Big Bottom™.
Also included is Bluetooth 5.3, support for RØDE Series IV wireless microphones, and two headphone outputs (6.3 mm jack).

Streaming and recording

The device allows direct streaming via Wi-Fi 6 or Ethernet using RTMP/RTMPS to YouTube Live, Twitch, Facebook Live, X (Twitter), or your own server. It records video to MP4 (H.264) files and audio to WAV (24-bit/48 kHz) files with the option of ISO recording of all inputs.
An external SSD can be connected via USB-C, or you can use the UVC output to record to a computer.

Application and control software

The RØDECaster App can be used to remotely configure scenes, automatic audio switching, output routing, streaming profiles, and detailed mixing of individual channels. The software is available for macOS 11+ and Windows 10 (1803)+.
