The Stereo VideoMic Pro delivers a wide stereo image with natural depth, thanks to new, high-sensitivity ½" condenser capsules arranged in a fixed XY configuration. In addition to the new microphone capsules, a key difference from the original version of the microphone (SVM Pro) is the integrated Rycote® Lyre® suspension system, which separates the microphone capsules and electronics from the microphone mount and ensures isolation from external physical factors that can cause unwanted noise and vibrations. The suspension is made from a single piece of durable thermoplastic and provides excellent acoustic isolation. Furthermore, unlike traditional elastic suspension solutions, it never wears out (no sagging or snapping rubber bands). Thanks to its ergonomic design, it is perfectly suited for DSLRs, small home video cameras, and cameras with large sensors. The newly designed Kevlar-reinforced braided cable, along with the improved windscreen foam, contributes to excellent acoustic isolation from the camera and offers significantly lower transmission noise and higher sensitivity. On the rear of the microphone body, there is a compartment for a 9V battery and all control elements, including a 75 Hz high-pass filter—designed to eliminate low-frequency noise generated by sources such as traffic, air conditioning, etc.—and sensitivity switches (-10 dB, 0, +20 dB).
