RGBlink MSP 221

The RGBlink MSP 221 is an EDID and HDCP manager that sits between the source and the display. It takes an HDMI or VGA signal and sends it to a DVI or VGA output while reporting the same EDID to the source even when displays are swapped, unplugged or switched off. It can capture and store EDID from a display, set it with the front-panel buttons, or over USB from an Android or Windows app.

A small helper for installations with projectors and monitors where the source changes its output resolution or stops sending a picture after a display is swapped or switched off. The MSP 221 keeps a consistent display identification towards the source and also helps resolve HDCP conflicts when outputting to DVI or VGA.

Typical setup

An HDMI source (laptop) or VGA source (computer) connects to the input of the MSP 221, the DVI output feeds, for example, a video processor and the VGA output a monitor. The manager is controlled from a computer over the USB interface.

Buttons and indicators

Seven buttons with indicators on the front panel are used to capture EDID from a display, write it to two memory slots for both HDMI and VGA, and restore the factory setting. EDID can also be loaded from a file over USB.
