The Sennheiser MKH 418-S is a professional M-S stereo shotgun microphone for film, television, radio, and news reporting. It combines a Mid directional capsule with a Side capsule, provides independent M and S signals via a 5-pin XLR connector, and is designed for 48V phantom power.

The MKH 418-S uses RF condenser technology with two separate acoustic systems. The directional tube generates the M signal, while the side capsule with a figure-8 pattern generates the S signal; both are available independently at the output for subsequent M-S decoding.
High directivity and weather-resistant capsules support use in demanding conditions. The microphone operates on P48 phantom power; for proper orientation, the “TOP” label should face upward.
Included in the package: MKH 418-S microphone, carrying case, and user manual.
