By condensing light from full-frame lenses onto an APS-C sensor, the Speed Booster reduces the crop factor from 1.5x to 1.07x, producing a nearly full-frame field of view while simultaneously increasing the maximum aperture by one f-stop, improving low-light performance and allowing a shallower depth of field.

Constructed from precision-machined brass with chrome plating, the adapter ensures a secure fit with no play or wobble.
