The Sennheiser CA 6042 XLR Y-cable splits the 5-pin mini-XLR output of the EK 6042 receiver into two 3-pin XLR connectors, one per receiving channel. Use it to connect the receiver to a mixer or recorder via the GA 6042 BP backpanel adapter, or to feed the second channel into another audio input of a Sony camera. The receiver end has a female mini-XLR.

One mini-XLR connector carries both receiver channels. The Y-cable splits them so that channel 1 goes to the first XLR (MAIN 1 / AUX 1) and channel 2 to the second (MAIN 2 / AUX 2).

With the GA 6042 BP backpanel, the EK 6042 has two mini-XLR outputs: MAIN 1/2 (analogue or digital AES3) and AUX 1/2. To connect both to a mixer, use two CA 6042 XLR Y-cables.
In the slot of a Sony camera, only channel 1 may be passed through. Channel 2 can be fed from the top AUX 1/2 output via this cable into another camera audio input.
Mini-XLR: pin 1 ground, pins 2/3 channel 1 (+/−), pins 4/5 channel 2 (+/−). XLR: pin 1 ground, pin 2 +, pin 3 −.
