 Sennheiser’s HD 600 series headphones have long been the standard for natural sound, thanks to our ongoing commitment to refining the open-back headphone design. Over time, we introduced the 500 Series to bring these qualities to a wider audience than ever before at a lower price point, thanks to a wide soundstage and dynamics that draw the listener into the music. The HD 620S model combines the DNA of both headphone series and delivers the best of their features, this time with a closed-back design.

 Thanks to the reference-grade 38mm, 150-ohm driver with an ultra-light aluminum voice coil, the listener is drawn into the music by an exceptionally precise impulse response, while the outside world fades into the background as emotions take over. Where many closed-back headphones struggle with microacoustic issues, the HD 620S excels with undistorted reproduction thanks to a specially designed rear panel and damping system, both of which were carefully developed to preserve the quality and original liveliness of the sound. The detailed, airy sound of the driver is thus produced without the closed enclosure compromising its natural tonality. The bass and sub-bass are pronounced yet carefully balanced, thanks to the flexible acoustic treatment of the enclosure’s internal walls, a feature adopted from the higher-end HD 660S2 model. They do not rumble, but are dynamic and almost tangibly refined. The low and midrange frequencies maintain the appropriate balance in the music.  The reproduction of vocals is so realistically faithful that it evokes a sense of the singer’s personal presence. No frequency bands are muddied or emphasized, even when listening to passionate vocals or the most complex music in Hi-Res.

 The remarkably refined open front baffle of the enclosure and, above all, the unique angular positioning of the speaker/driver, direct frequencies toward the ear canal in a completely natural way, resulting in astonishing liveliness, realism, and authenticity in the reproduction. They expand the stereo image into an almost panoramic sound field, ensuring that audiophiles no longer need to seek out an acoustically treated listening room to experience an impressive soundstage. This design evokes the sensation of a wide, classic triangular soundstage produced by perfectly positioned speakers.
