DC power connector 5.5/2.5 mm, straight, 14 mm

Direct-connect DC power plug with an outer diameter of 5.5 mm and an inner diameter of 2.5 mm; the metal portion is 14 mm long. It is soldered onto a cable. It is used to repair power cables and to make custom connectors.

A direct DC power connector in the most common size: 5.5 × 2.5 mm. It fits into the power jacks of monitors, recorders, LED lights, routers, and most desktop adapters that use this size.

The metal part is 14 mm long, so it can reach even deeper recessed sockets in a blind panel or camera cage. The wires are soldered, and the plastic sleeve is then screwed over the connection, serving as a strain relief.

It’s useful for repairing a torn power cable as well as for making a custom jumper—for example, from a battery plate to a light fixture.
