The Cartoni Lambda 25 Third Axis adds a third axis to the Lambda 25 nodal head, allowing nodal setting on three rotation axes, as if the camera were enclosed in a sphere. It fits any existing Lambda 25: simply take apart the two L-shaped frames and insert the third axis between them. Ideal for underslung use on dollies or cranes, it carries up to 20 kg.

The Cartoni Lambda 25 Third Axis adds a third axis to the Lambda 25 nodal head, allowing nodal setting on three rotation axes, as if the camera were enclosed in a sphere. It fits any existing Lambda 25: simply take apart the two L-shaped frames and insert the third axis between them. Ideal for underslung use on dollies or cranes, it carries up to 20 kg.
Nodal setting on three axes
The third axis comes with a short camera plate to fit the inverted camera slide and two 1 kg counterweights. The axis itself weighs 5.8 kg and has continuous fluid drag.

A camera inside a sphere
Pan, tilt and roll axes intersect at a single point, so the camera rotates around its optical centre in every direction.
Fits between the frames
Take apart the two L-shaped Lambda 25 frames and insert the third axis between them.
Underslung use
The head can be used underslung from cranes, jib arms or on dollies, giving positions a conventional head cannot reach.
Short camera plate
A short camera plate fits the inverted camera slide.
Two 1 kg counterweights
The counterweights help balance the camera on its nodal point.
Third axis with hand wheel
The L-shaped roll axis is driven by a hand wheel and carries the short camera plate.
