The Canare IBC Brand Cleaner M-20 (Canare catalog number 14347 Cleaner) is a handheld cleaner for the ferrules of optical connectors. Dirt or scratches on the ferrule face will reliably disrupt signal transmission through the fiber, so cleaning the connector is not merely a cosmetic step but a requirement for a functional connection.

Cleaning is done with a single press: place the tool on the connector, press down, and the cleaning strip wipes the ferrule face. The strip does not fray, and the antistatic system prevents dust from immediately settling back onto the cleaned ferrule face. No solvent is required.

The tool is suitable for both finished cable assemblies that can be held in the hand and for connectors recessed behind a panel, which are otherwise inaccessible. Each unit lasts for more than 525 cleaning cycles, after which it is discarded.
