The Canare BCJ-BPLHA is a 75Ω BNC video connector designed for surface-mount installation on a printed circuit board. The pins are oriented at a right angle, so the board lies parallel to the panel.
The connector is secured to the panel from the front with an M2.6 screw —so it can be installed from the front of the device without having to reach inside. The spacing between connectors is 16 mm, which allows for very dense panel mounting. Additionally, the right-angle design can be screwed directly to the board, ensuring it stays in place during soldering and making the job go smoothly.
Sockets designed for PCB mounting significantly reduce the cost of assembly: they eliminate the need for connecting wires between the board and the panel, as well as the need for their termination.
The center contact is made of beryllium copper with good elastic properties and is gold-plated. The return loss for the angled version is 26 dB or more up to 1.5 GHz and 20 dB or more up to 3 GHz.
Two notes from the manufacturer: the mounting hole spacing on the board differs between the BCJ-BPLHK and the BCJ-BPLHA, so the models are not directly interchangeable; and connectors intended for PCB mounting must never be washed after soldering.
