A single 10G SMPTE-2110 input carries video and up to 16 channels of embedded audio. The converter has one HDMI output for instant monitoring in HD, Ultra HD and 4K DCI up to 60p.

An optical model without PoE

Unlike the copper version, this is not an RJ-45 and PoE++ model: it has an SFP slot for optical 10G Ethernet and runs from the included 12V power supply.

For managed broadcast operation

The converter conforms to SMPTE ST 2110-20, -21, -30 and -40. PTP v2 (ST 2059) provides time synchronization and NMOS IS-04 and IS-05 make device discovery and connection management easy. For Ultra HD at higher frame rates it uses the low latency Blackmagic IP10 codec.

How it fits into a 2110 IP infrastructure

The SMPTE ST-2110 standard defines the transport and synchronization of 10-bit video, audio and ancillary data over managed IP networks. 10-bit processing benefits broadcast work above all, where accurate picture reproduction matters.

Blackmagic 2110 IP products support both PTP and NMOS, so they can work as part of a virtual video router. Larger systems can be connected through a network switch and managed by network configuration, while the compact 2110 IP Mini even fits behind a display.

The range uses common 10G Ethernet. This SFP model is designed for optical modules and long runs; it also supports 3G, 6G and 12G SDI optical modules for compatibility with regular SDI video.
