The Sennheiser KA 9000 COM adapter adds a COMMAND button to the SK 6000 and SK 9000 bodypack transmitters. It connects between the transmitter and the microphone or instrument cable; pressing the button changes where the audio goes on the outputs of the EM 6000 or EM 9046 receiver. A presenter or singer can talk to the engineer without the audience hearing it. The adapter cable is 1.6 m long.
The button function is set in the receiver menu. Each output – analogue, AES3 and both Dante channels – can be given its own behaviour.

Talk: the output is muted and passes audio only while the button is pressed. Mute: audio is live and the button mutes it. One press can mute the PA feed and route the voice only to the engineer on a Dante channel.
The adapter plug goes into the transmitter audio socket, and a Sennheiser microphone or the CI 1-4 cable then connects to the adapter socket.
Handheld transmitters are available as the SKM 9000 COM with a built-in button; bodypacks get the same function through this adapter.
