Blackmagic Design announced HyperDeck Studio 12G, a new professional solid state disk based broadcast deck that can record SD, HD and Ultra HD up to 2160p60. HyperDeck Studio 12G features familiar VTR style controls and includes advanced 12G-SDI and HDMI 2.0 connections for recording high frame rate Ultra HD over a single cable.

HyperDeck Studio 12G will be available in May for 2,675 EUR ex. VAT.

HyperDeck Studio 12G is the newest member of the HyperDeck family and is an advanced technology replacement for aging broadcast decks. Customers get the same functionality and control of a traditional deck with the advantage of recording directly to 10-bit 4:2:2 uncompressed files for SD and HD, or to broadcast quality Apple ProRes and DNxHD files for SD, HD and Ultra HD.

HyperDeck Studio 12G is the only deck that’s future proof and ready for every kind of production. Customers can use HyperDeck Studio 12G with all of their existing SD and HD equipment today, with the confidence of knowing that it will automatically switch to high frame rate Ultra HD 2160p60 when they need it.

The clarity, sharpness, detail and smooth motion of high frame rate Ultra HD makes it perfect for live sports programming. HyperDeck Studio 12G can be used with the latest broadcast switchers, such as the ATEM Broadcast Studio 12G, to record the master program output. Multiple HyperDecks can even be used to record clean feeds from the switcher, or even ISO recordings from every camera so you have full frame rate 2160p60 video available for instant replays or later post production.

HyperDeck Studio 12G features the latest multi rate 12G-SDI and HDMI 2.0 connections, making it compatible with virtually all SD, HD and Ultra HD formats, including high frame rate 2160p60.

There are two SSD slots allowing for continuous recording of full 10-bit 4:2:2 quality video onto standard 2.5” solid state disks. When one disk is full recording automatically continues onto the next disk. HyperDeck Studio 12G creates files that are ready for post production and SSD cards can be mounted directly on a Mac or PC computer. That means editors and colorists can instantly use the files off the disk without having to convert or transcode them. Files are compatible with all popular post production applications such as DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro X, Premiere Pro, Media Composer and more.

HyperDeck Studio 12G has a compact, single rack unit design that easily fits into any equipment rack, flyaway kit or outside broadcast vehicle. The machined metal design makes it rugged and durable enough to use in even the harshest production environments. The VTR style controls on the front panel are designed to make HyperDeck Studio 12G easy and familiar to use. There are illuminated play, record, rewind, and fast forward buttons, along with a standard jog/shuttle wheel on the front panel. HyperDeck Studio 12G can also be controlled remotely using standard RS-422 deck control or via SDI start/stop triggers.

UltraStudio 4K Extreme features many type of video connections including quad link 12G-SDI, HDMI 2.0 and more, plus it includes a built in multi format hardware codec! UltraStudio 4K Extreme is the world's first Thunderbolt based solution with advanced 12G-SDI technology for capturing and playing back video from the latest high frame rate Ultra HD and 4K devices up to 2160p60 over a single, standard BNC cable. UltraStudio 4K Extreme supports virtually every SD, HD, Ultra HD and 4K format and frame rate, in both YUV and RGB color.

UltraStudio 4K Extreme also includes a built in hardware multi format hardware codec that allows capture to H.265 files, which is becoming the compression standard for distributing Ultra HD content online. The demand for content encoded in the H.265 format will become higher as customers demand high quality Ultra HD content for the latest televisions they are purchasing today. This means UltraStudio 4K Extreme is the perfect solution for real time encoding of Ultra HD to files for online distribution of content.

This hardware codec also supports ProRes encoding so customers can record and playback everything from Apple ProRes 422 Proxy to the highest quality 12-bit ProRes 4444 XQ files for advanced compositing and color grading. This hardware codec means that high resolutions and high frame rates can be captured to lower speed computers such as laptops because the heavy processing of the video compression and decompression is handled in the UltraStudio 4K Extreme. This means the data rates the computer needs to handle are greatly reduced.

Designed to be used on a desktop, or installed into equipment racks, UltraStudio 4K Extreme features an attractive, machined aluminum front panel with an integrated color display and buttons for quickly selecting input sources for video, audio, timecode and deck control. The rear panel includes virtually every type of video and audio connection that exists, including 12G-SDI, HDMI 2.0, analog component and composite video, balanced XLR and AES/EBU digital audio, as well as optical fiber expansion cages, RS-422 deck control inputs, dual power supplies and more.

Customers will be able to capture and playback Ultra HD in YUV at 60 frames per second as well as Ultra HD and 4K RGB video at 30 frames per second via the advanced 12G-SDI video connections. The Thunderbolt loop thru allows connection of up to 6 devices, so customers can connect fast disk arrays for massive amounts of video storage with a single Thunderbolt connection to their computer. When higher frame rates in RGB 4K are required, then UltraStudio 4K Extreme includes a higher speed PCI Express external connection so customers can connect via PCI Express and go beyond the speeds possible with the built in Thunderbolt connection.

UltraStudio 4K Extreme handles virtually every television format, making it the ideal solution for all post production and broadcast users working on high end design, editing, paint, color correction and visual effects projects. UltraStudio 4K Extreme is also perfect for 3D workflows because it features both interleaved/side by side and dual stream capture and playback. Interleaved 3D allows the left and right eye to be interleaved as fields into a single video connection and file, so customers can edit and finishing software such as DaVinci Resolve.

Blackmagic Design announced DeckLink 4K Pro, a new dual link 12G-SDI capture and playback card that includes an extremely high performance 8 lane PCI Express Generation 2 connection for dual stream capture and playback of high frame rate Ultra HD and 4K video up to 2160p60.

Blackmagic Design DeckLink 4K Pro is the newest member of the DeckLink family of PCIe video capture and playback cards. Introducing the world’s smallest Ultra HD live studio camera!

Blackmagic Design announced the Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K, an incredibly tiny Ultra HD and HD studio camera for live production that delivers dramatically better quality than the biggest and most expensive studio cameras used today.

The Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand and features an incredible quality, broadcast grade Ultra HD sensor that shoots with amazing clarity so customers can see more texture and detail in their images than ever before.

The new Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K can be used for both HD and Ultra HD production and features a built in color corrector, talkback, tally indicator, PTZ control output, B4 lens control output, and an extremely flexible MFT lens mount that is easily converted to other lens mounts via third party adapters.

When used for regular HD, the extra sensor resolution completely eliminates any color loss from the sensor’s bayer pattern so customers get full bandwidth RGB HD color and superior sub pixel anti-aliasing for amazing, fine detail HD images that look better than most of the bigger, more expensive cameras used in studios today.

The small size and completely open design of the Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K makes it perfect for live multi camera production of reality TV shows, news magazines, sporting events, concerts and more. It’s virtually invisible and can be hidden just about anywhere on set, giving customers the ability to have more camera angles than ever before so they can create a more interesting program. They can be hidden on stage to get incredible shots of live performances or, because they’re so small, safely flown overhead during sporting events.

The Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K is engineered with a super tough magnesium alloy core in a body that’s not much larger than the lens mount itself. It’s compatible with affordable, high performance MFT lenses, or customers can add a B4 adapter to work with traditional broadcast lenses. The camera also features 6G-SDI output and a program return input that allows it to be controlled remotely from a switcher using Blackmagic’s SDI control protocol. This lets customers change camera settings, color balance, black levels, gamma, lens focus, iris, zoom and much more from any ATEM switcher.

There’s also a flexible, new expansion port that makes the Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K perfect for remote use. The expansion port features multiple control connections such as a PTZ serial output connection that can be used with motorized heads and a B4 data link output for controlling broadcast lenses. Customers can even build their own camera control solutions using the S.Bus input. The expansion port uses a common DB-HD15 connector so customers can easily make their own cables or use the breakout cable that’s included. The expansion port also includes DC camera power in, LANC and reference input.
