RED is finishing the work on new IPP2, or the Image Processing Pipeline 2, for their new Helium-based cameras! The IPP2 includes the new color science for Helium cameras, and will work in-camera for Helium models, or it can be applied in post for DSMC-based cameras. RED expects IPP2 to officially launch at the end of January as they continue to work on the SDK and integration with software vendors that support R3D. RED also released a preview build of both camera builds and RCX for all users to test some of the improvements, such as the color banding improvements and out of gamut errors in extreme situations on some LEDs / stoplights etc. The new firmware for WEAPON 6K/8K, WEAPON MG, EPIC-W, SCARLET-W, RED RAVEN, EPIC DRAGON, EPIC M-X, SCARLET DRAGON, and SCARLET M-X, can be downloaded here.

RED also provided a shipping update for new camera models and upgrades: new orders of WEAPON 8K S35 and EPIC-W models will be fulfilled within approx. 30 days after the Holidays. New orders and SCARLET-W switchers to WEAPON Helium should be fulfilled within 30 days after the Holidays as well. All other WEAPON 8K and EPIC-W trade ins and upgrades are shipping in parallel and should catch up shortly after the above does. Orders of SCARLET-W are catching up, no definite dates, yet. Situation with RAVEN is chaotic, new orders of RAVEN are currently on hold until RED catches up with existing orders.
