The professional and highly flexible 3 Legged Things Mike tripod is one of the brand's 1st hybrid photo/video products. It is the perfect choice for ambitious photographers and videographers who value quality craftsmanship and materials. This model is part of the Legends series, so it's great for all photographic disciplines, whether you'll be shooting landscapes, architecture, people, animals and sports. Skateboarder, musician and photographer Ray Barbee also worked on the development of the tripod and it's named after Mike McGill, inventor of the iconic McTwist skateboard trick.

The tripod's shaped plate includes hollow spurs for attaching a strap, carabiner or 3LT Toolz. It then features 1/4" screw threads for a wide variety of CSC/DSLR cameras and camcorders, and a 3/8" thread for attaching a microphone or other devices. The tripod is fully compatible with the AirHed Cine Standard and Cine Arca ball heads, which can be purchased separately, together as part of a set, or you can choose another alternative to suit your preference. The levelling base includes a spirit level to level the head on the tripod, so you can cope even when working in uneven terrain.

The leveling base has a locking knob on one side for locking or unlocking the leveler. The friction of the leveling base is controlled by a D-ring on the underside of the base, which additionally allows the weight to be attached to the legs for added stability. The rigid and fully balanced 8-ply carbon fiber construction and aerospace-grade magnesium alloy joints ensure the tripod has the necessary balance as well as reliability in any situation.

The tripod's modular design will suit many photographic applications and help you overcome even the most challenging field conditions. The tripod offers right off the bat 3 removable legs that can be used separately as monopods or as boom arrays. The tripod is then also ideal for use on a table or other elevated surface, as adding another set of legs, such as the 3LT Vanz, will turn it into a tabletop tripod in a flash.

The Rapid Latch anodized metal latch with automatic locking is used to open, position and also to quickly release the legs when needed. Unique rubber O-Pads serve as leg locks that adjust with a simple quarter turn to loosen the legs and select the desired height. Additionally, the O-Pads provide both better grip and more leverage and allow for reliable rainwater drainage in inclement weather thanks to their ingenious design. The inner locks then have premium Chicken Lips sleeves to give them maximum strength.
