Compact body with the large Z mount

The Z50 combines a lightweight DX body (approx. 395 g) with the large Nikon Z mount. The 20.9 MP CMOS sensor and EXPEED 6 processor offer ISO 100–51,200, continuous shooting at up to 11 fps and 209 focus points covering most of the frame. A deep grip and well-placed buttons make it easy to hold and operate.

Viewfinder, tilting monitor and self-portrait mode

The OLED electronic viewfinder with approx. 2.36 million dots shows the image exactly as it will be recorded. The 8 cm (3.2″) touchscreen tilts down by 180°, so it suits selfies and vlogging – the camera switches to self-portrait mode when the monitor is flipped. Silent mode lets you shoot without shutter sound.

NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR lens

This retractable DX standard zoom covers 16–50 mm, from wide shots to portraits. Retracted, it is just 32 mm long and weighs about 135 g, keeping the camera compact. Optical vibration reduction steadies handheld stills and video, and focusing is almost silent. 9 elements in 7 groups, focusing from 0.2 m and a 46 mm filter thread.

Eye-detection AF and creative presets

Eye-detection autofocus ensures sharp portraits. 20 Creative Picture Controls with a live preview are available, together with a built-in pop-up flash for filling in shadows.

4K video and sharing

The camera records 4K UHD video up to 30p and Full HD up to 120p (including slow motion), has an external microphone input and electronic vibration reduction for video. Images can be transferred to a smartphone via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth (SnapBridge).
