The BirdDog X1 Ultra Bundle Blackincludes three X1 Ultra 4K PTZ cameras and a KBD controller in a foam case. This bundle brings professional image quality and unified control to streaming studios, corporate AV spaces, and church halls.
The X1 Ultra uses a Sony 1/2.8" CMOS sensor with 8.29 MP and 12× zoom (4.1–49.2 mm) to record UHD 4K at 30 fps, Full HD, and 720p. A wide 70.28° field of view, 64-point color matrix, 2D/3D noise reduction, and SNR > 50 dB ensure clear images, while 0.1–80°/s pan, 0.1–60°/s tilt, and 255 presets add cinematic movement to your shots.
Connectivity: NDI®|HX3, SRT, RTMP, and VISCA-IP via PoE or Wi-Fi 5, plus HDMI and USB-UVC. The integrated NDI|HX decoder allows a single camera to function as a return monitor or teleprompter, reducing cable clutter and latency.
Smart features: AI Auto-Tracking, Halo Tally, and a 2.93" always-on E-Ink label for instant display of IP address or camera ID. Control via BirdUI, iOS app, Q-SYS, Crestron, or Companion.
The KBD controller allows you to preview four NDI streams, offers a Super-Fine joystick for fine control, and copy settings between cameras. Made from ocean-bound plastic and aluminum, it is durable and environmentally friendly. Designed for low-latency IP production, the X1 Ultra package combines 4K optics and eco-friendly design for future PTZ upgrades.
The X1 and X1 Ultra cameras feature the most visible and effective tally system on the market. There is a large frame on the front that is clearly visible even in daylight and a replaceable illuminated number system on the back. Your crew and performers always know exactly where to look to keep the audience engaged and the broadcast looking professional.
The X1 and X1 Ultra cameras keep the subject in focus thanks to AI tracking technology, which intelligently tracks the subject's movement in real time. Whether you're directing a live event, capturing spontaneous moments in a hybrid environment, or tracking a sporting event, AI tracking ensures a well-composed shot—without the need for an eight-armed controller.
The X1 and X1 Ultra cameras deliver superior network performance thanks to the integration of NDI® | HX3. The result is significantly lower network load while maintaining excellent image quality, enabling wider use in various network environments. BirdDog's implementation of NDI® | HX3 provides quality and performance you can rely on.
The X1 and X1 Ultra are the world's first PTZ cameras with an NDI® | HX decoder designed specifically for control preview, return signals, or teleprompter. We've reduced all connectivity to a single cable, radically simplifying equipment handling. Whether you're broadcasting live or preparing a CEO's speech, the integrated NDI HX decoder allows for more options with minimal setup.
No need to run a cable to every shot. In addition to classic Ethernet with PoE, the X1 and X1 Ultra have built-in Wi-Fi. This makes it easy to capture shots from locations where it is difficult to run a cable and seamlessly integrate them into any environment. Your production is now much more flexible.
The always-on E-Ink label on the X1 and X1 Ultra is a real innovation. From displaying network addresses for easy access to controls to instant camera identification, this feature ensures that your settings are clear and each camera is clearly identifiable even when the power is off.
Camera color settings are now at a higher level. The X1 and X1 Ultra feature a full color matrix with individual saturation settings for red, green, blue, cyan, yellow, and magenta – all with 64 levels of adjustment.
Take full control of your BirdDog camera with an easy-to-use iPad/iPhone app. Pan, tilt, zoom, save and recall presets, view full-screen camera previews, and access all BirdDog camera color matrix tools and settings.
BirdUI provides complete access to all X1 and X1 Ultra features in a clear and intuitive interface. As a browser-based application, it is accessible from anywhere within the same network as the X1/X1 Ultra cameras. BirdUI adds, for example, a dashboard for monitoring cameras and a light/dark mode that adapts to your production environment.

The BirdDog KBD controller offers PTZ camera operators a durable and ergonomic design, a large display for working with multiple cameras, and direct access to key functions. Witha built-in tally displayandphysical tactile feedbackwhenswitching cameras, its operation is intuitive and environmentally friendly—it is made from Ocean-Bound Plastics and recyclable aircraft-grade aluminum. NDI, VISCA, ONVIF, RS-232, and RS-422 connectivity ensures maximum versatility regardless of the protocol used.
The KBD is designed for professionals who require precision and simplicity in their work. The robust, ergonomic design is built for long-term use and offers a hand rest and tactile control buttons for all-day comfort.
When you need to fine-tune the details, the camera joystick can be easily switched to "fine-tune" mode, which increases its sensitivity 10×. Recomposing shots during a live broadcast becomes an artistic expression rather than a stressful task.
The large display allows you to monitor up to four cameras simultaneously or focus on one in full-screen mode. Pairing and switching cameras is a matter of a single button press with clear tactile feedback, ensuring smooth and intuitive transitions.
The KBD display provides live previews for NDI-HX2/HX3 cameras and displays key text information for other models, ensuring seamless compatibility and clarity throughout the workflow.
Pairing and switching cameras is a matter of a single press thanks to tactile buttons with instant response. When integrated with mixing consoles such as TriCaster or vMix, the KBD's built-in tally frame displays the live camera directly on the controller, so you can focus fully on your work without having to watch additional screens.
A groundbreaking feature in the industry allows you to set up one camera exactly the way you want it and then simply copy those settings to another camera of the same model (BirdDog X series feature). This makes it easy to unify the look of all your cameras and take your production quality to the next level.
With a clear layout, operators can access camera pairing, switching, and configuration in seconds. Everything is clear, understandable, and designed based on user feedback.
BirdDog KBD connects seamlessly via NDI, VISCA, ONVIF, RS-232, and RS-422, making it a versatile solution for any setup. It also emphasizes sustainability—plastics from ocean waste are used in its manufacture, reducing its environmental impact.
With expanded features and a lower price point than the previous generation, the KBD is the result of careful tuning to user needs. It offers exceptional comfort, precise control, and eco-friendly design for the modern PTZ camera operator.
